
















The building dates back to the 17th century and houses the apartments of the Italian sculptor. After his death in 1959, the collection of his works there became the nucleus of a museum dedicated to the artist. His wife, who died in 1987, additionally donated to the City of Rome the furnishings of the apartment where they had lived. Pietro Canonica (1 March 1869 – 8 June 1959) was an Italian sculptor, painter, opera composer, professor of arts and senator for life known for his portraits and commemorative works and master of equestrian sculpture.
